My Second Day

Last night I slept very well, but I did convince mom to take me out one time. Another time, about an hour later, I tried again and she ignored me and told me to go back to sleep. I called her a bad name, quietly. She really meant it, so I went back to sleep until it was time to get up.

In the morning I helped mom make a fire again. Yesterday when I helped, I stole kindling. Today I stole a whole big wad of newspaper! It makes the best sounds, and it falls apart when you shake it. I love it.

In the afternoon I decided to test a lot of things that mom calls "house rules". I chewed on the floor, or tried to, and she told me no. So I did it again. She said no again, and I ignored her. Then she gave me a stuffed chicken to play with and I dropped it and walked away and acted really mad. She ignored me. I went behind her chair and started pulling on the curtains. She told me maybe it was time for a little time-out, which means she put me in my pop-up crate. I was mad. I took a short nap, and when I got up I decided to be better.
Dad came home from work and petted me and rubbed me all over. He tried to play fetch, but the buffalo gets in the way and sits where I am supposed to drop the ball. Mom says he is jealous and will get over it. I think he's rude.

A box came today! It had shoes in it for mom and dad, and when it was empty I came over to look at it. I was very afraid. Mom said I was silly, and got some kibble and put a piece beside the box. I got the kibble, but I still didn't like the box much. Then she put a piece of kibble IN the box! I wanted it so bad. Then she put ANOTHER piece in!! TWO pieces!! But I still wouldn't get it. Then she dropped in another, and another, and I got closer and closer, and then I got in the box and ate the whole pile of kibble. Boxes are WONDERFUL!

Tonight maybe I will get mom to take me out a few times, just for fun. But she makes it so boring.

  2. Ah-Ah Yoshi. You must respect your home. I know it is difficult to understand what is and is not acceptable. Your Mom & Dad have a good handle on how to teach you these things. You must listen to them and learn to appreciate their guidance. They both want the best for you. I want you to try real hard to impress your Dad, the Buffalo and the orange thing. They are all part of your new family. Invite Dad to play with you when the Buffalo isn't in the room and try to be calm and lick the ears of the orange thing. It may be easier to do the latter when your tired and less rambunctious.

Keep up the good work and keep me posted.
PS: Please keep your head out of the wood stove!
